If, after staying in a luxurious hotel, you find yourself getting home and feeling like there’s something missing, then it could need just a few simple additions to make it feel reminiscent of a luxury hotel.
It’s really easy to add some small luxury touches around your home and make it feel more relaxing, so let’s take a look at some of the ways in which you can make your home feel like a luxury hotel.
Build A Scent
One thing you’re sure to notice when staying in a hotel is the scent. As one of the strongest senses, scent can instantly transport you back to a certain time and place, so if you adored the smell during your stay, then this is something you can easily replicate within your home.
A lot of hotels get their scents from big brands, such as Jo Malone or The White Company, so these can be easily incorporated into your home through the use of candles, scented drawer inserts, room sprays and diffusers. Certain hotels have their own signature scents, such as the Ritz in Paris, which you can actually buy from the reception.
However, if you’re not sure about the scent used, but know you want to use the idea throughout your home, then this too is easy to do. Whatever your preferred scent preference is, whether it’s woody, fruity or floral, then you need to make sure that it fills your home.
Try to avoid having different scents in different rooms – if you want the luxury experience to flow throughout your home, then stick to using one fragrance.
Restructure Your Bedroom
Although hotels often use a fit out company to ensure the best and most desirable layout for their room designs, there are some tips you can use in your bedroom at home to emulate that seamless layout and design that most luxury hotels have.
For instance, adding a bedroom bench at the end of your bed adds a touch of luxury to your room, as well as practicality in terms of functions. You can also ensure that your bed faces your window so as to make the most of natural light and add light voile curtains so that you can enjoy it in privacy.
Another easy way to restructure your bedroom without really doing much is to change and update the lighting you use. If you have little to no soft lighting in the form of lamps, then look to add these to your beside table, or change out your lightbulbs for softer glow ones to completely change the ambience of the room.
Invest In Your Bed
You spend about a third of your life sleeping, so it’s important to invest in your bed to ensure it is comfortable and relaxing. When you stay at a luxury hotel, you’ll likely have a great night’s sleep and this is because they’ll use the very best in terms of pillows, bedding and mattresses.
You want to make sure that you get the best quality bedding in relation to your budget, whilst making sure that it’s soft and comfortable.
