There are some quick fixes that will enhance your space and take it from drab to fabulous. So what can you do?
Change Out The Fixtures
One of the easiest ways to redo your bathroom space is by changing out the old fixtures. The faucets for the sinks and the tub are often outdated and no one pays much attention to that. However, new shower heads look great, and can actually save you money. If your shower head is more than 10 years old, it is really outdated. Get rid of the gold and step into the 21st century with nickel.
Revamp the Lighting
Bathrooms aren’t always known for having great lighting. Rather than trying to read in the poorest of lighting, opt for some new ways to brighten the space. Canister lights are an excellent way to let the light shine. They are mounted into the ceiling so they won’t hang down and interfere in the space. Also, a new light fixture above the mirror and in the ceiling can enhance the space’s light. If you have a window, put a blind up that can be raised or lowered to bring in natural light.
Paint
If you still have wallpaper on your walls, you are in serious need of an update. Remove wallpaper and or tile from the walls and hit them with a splash of color. There’s nothing better than fresh paint in an old and forgot about space. It will give it new life and make it look amazing. Some popular colors these days are orange, red, gray, and even brown. Depending on the light in your bathroom, you may want to pick a lighter hue so that it doesn’t darken the space too much. Pick out a great new shower curtain and your paint color will really pop.
Re-glaze the Shower/Tub
Tearing out the shower and or tub can be a big mess. If you have an undesirable color from yesteryear, you may not have the money in the budget to replace them. You don’t have to replace them when you can just have them re-glazed. There are companies that come in and put a protective layer over the old bathtub or shower. It is a fraction of the cost of a new one and makes a dramatic improvement.
Get Glass Doors
Whether you already have shower doors or you have a shower curtain doesn’t matter. Shower doors are great for keeping the moisture inside the shower. They will help reduce mold in the bathroom and can make the space look bigger. When you have a seamless glass shower door, it not only shows off the fancy tile work, but it can also really dress the bathroom up. Kick the bathroom remodel up another step with an amazing set of new doors. Some glass doors can come with beautiful etchings in them that make your bathroom really stand out.

Replace The Toilet
The toilets these days are all fancy. Some even have buttons to press for number one or two. These buttons allow the toilet to use minimal water to flush. Due to the economic designs, these toilets can save you a ton of money on your water bills. Forget the old-fashioned styles that used more than 5-7 gallons to flush. The new models can get the job done with anywhere from 1-2 gallons.
Put in New Flooring
Because a bathroom is not that large of a space, new flooring won’t break the bank. You can opt for ceramic or even vinyl tiles to enhance the space. Nothing looks better with your great new paint color than some sparkling new floor tiles. You can get really creative and spend as little or as much as you want.
By using your elbow grease and some common knowledge, you can turn any of these projects into a weekend renovation task. Depending on your budget and what your bathroom needs, you can come up with your own remodeling list. Whatever you do will only enhance the space and make it more comfortable for your family.
