1. Use what you have.
If your Halloween decorations are still up, put away your ghoulish stuff, but leave out the pumpkin, the gourds and the Indian corn. Display these items on a coffee table decked with a festive cloth runner or around a collection of candles for contrast.
2. Get the kids involved.
Children should know what Thanksgiving is all about. 4. Get the kids involved. Again.
Children as young as nursery school age can get involved in your Thanksgiving celebration too. Chances are they’re busy at work making decorations — what you can and will put on display for all to see. 5. Put together your own cornucopia.
A cornucopia is also known as a “horn of plenty” or what are known as traditional displays of harvest abundance. You may not have a curved goat’s horn handy, but that shouldn’t stop you from filling a glass or brass bowl with an assortment of fall items including small pumpkins, gourds and berries. Use this arrangement as a table centerpiece or for display on a welcoming foyer table.

Lastly, consider cutting the last remaining fall flowers and placing these in a vase. Helenium, sedum and red spider lily offer a riot of autumn colors, providing just the festive touch that everyone will enjoy. Include white mums if you still have them.
