There is carpet … and carpet tiles
Notes:
- It should be noted at this stage that carpet tiles can also be of high quality and should be considered. They have the same qualities as large sections of carpets but offer an advantage. Specifically, you can replace one or two tiles to eliminate an issue with your carpet.
- That’s not an option if you have a standard carpet. A stain in the middle necessitates replacing the entire carpet. Another advantage for using carpet tiles is that you can design a creative pattern that fits any room.

Removing Stains:
You were relaxing in your living room, drinking a well-deserved glass of red wine, watching your favorite show, and suddenly – you don’t even know how! – your glass falls on your carpet.
- That alone is a nightmare. However, if you decided that you’d deal with the stain later and now it’s been weeks (or months)… well, you’re probably regretting your decision.

Pile
Notes:
- In general, the deeper the pile the better the quality of the carpet. The pile is the depth of the carpet, how long each strand is. Deeper piles mean more material has been used. It also means better insulation and energy efficiency as well as feeling better underfoot.
- It’s worth looking at the pile.

Material
Notes:
- The next thing to look at is what the carpet is made from. There are several different common materials and you will need to choose one according to where the carpet is going:
-
Nylon:
This is one of the most common materials for carpets. It is strong and very durable. Alongside this, it is easy to look after. However, not all nylon carpets are the same. High-quality nylon is likely to be branded, effectively telling you the company name or design, such as “Mohawk nylon”.
- If it just says 100% nylon then it is a lower quality.
-
Polyester:
This is a good choice for areas that don’t have heavy foot traffic. It is not as durable as nylon and harder to keep clean. However, it is usually stain-resistant and feels very soft underfoot.
-
Triexta:
Triexta is a more modern approach to carpets. This material is partially made from corn sugar and offers resistance to stains. In fact, it is tougher than nylon in this sense, stain resistance is a lifetime thing with Triexta carpets, it has to be refreshed in nylon carpets
-
Cheap Carpet:
What is a Carpet? A carpet is a textile that covers a floor or the space provided thereupon.
- Initially, the carpets were made from pure cotton, but since the 20th century, fibers such as nylon and polyester are also used for the manufacturing of the carpets.

Density
Notes:
- It’s not just the material or the depth of the piles that matter. You also need to consider the density of the material. That’s how many fibers are packed into a single square of material. The denser the carpet the better it will feel underfoot and the less likely it will be flat after just a few uses.

Texture retention
Notes:
- You’ll find some carpets are listed as having ‘texture retention. They may even be sold with a warranty that covers how long they will retain their texture for. This, and other similar warranties will show you that the manufacturer is serious about their carpets and should look after you.
- That’s a good indication that they are selling high-quality carpets.
