According to a new infographic from Sovereign, man’s attempts to defeat the intense summer heat are not new, and in fact, date back to the ancient times.
Studies have shown that ancient Egyptians used to hang wet cloths in their doorways to keep their houses cool even when it was hot outside. Similarly, wealthy Roman citizens constructed aqueducts in their homes to circulate water and keep the temperature down.
