Cribs can be round or square, have drop sides or can even convert into toddler beds. The choice is up to you. It just needs to fit the shape of your room and budget.

The nursing/rocking chair

No matter how you plan to feed your baby, you will need a comfortable chair in which to sit. Make sure that it is padded and that you have easy access to warm blankets. A rocking chair is a good choice as the rocking motion is very soothing for baby.

Storage is really important when it comes to planning your nursery. You will need storage for baby clothes, diapers, blankets and sheets etc. One option is to buy a regular storage unit and paint it to match your chosen color scheme, or alternatively stained and natural wood is also a good option. This is usually best placed next to your changing station.

The changing station
