A separate laundry area is a must-have item for many homebuyers. The laundry room is a dedicated space for a full-size washer and dryer, storage space for laundry supplies and a sink. Especially important in snow-regions, a laundry room with outside or garage access is a must.
Large Garage
Many homebuyers want the garage to hold two full-size cars, have extra space for bicycles and other recreational items, have wall shelving for storage and still have sufficient room for a home workshop of sorts. Smaller garages can turn away a homebuyer fairly quickly, even if the house has almost everything else they want.
Open Concept
Today’s homebuyers list spacious, flowing floor plans and high ceilings near the top of their must-have list. Being able to cook a kitchen with a clear, unobstructed view of the living and dining areas are a big plus for homebuyers who have children and/or like to entertain a lot. Today’s homebuyers want energy-efficient appliances and HVAC equipment that runs quietly with modern thermostat technology. More and more of today’s buyers have adopted a Green Energy philosophy. Solar paneling, extra wall and ceiling insulation, thermopane windows, low- maintenance yards with water-saving sprinkler systems and low flush toilets rank high on homebuyers’ priority lists
