This allows you to focus on each room as a complete entity, and also gives you the other rooms as space to move through and rearrange furniture. If you have a weekend to set aside, you can decide to paint 1-2 certain rooms each day, or dedicate a weekend to each large section of your house.
One of the most important and often-overlooked choices you’ll make painting your home is the type of paint you choose. This goes way beyond colors and shades. Build a Wine Cellar
Are you a wine aficionado? Why not give wine a physical place in your home that matches the space it fills in your belly? The options for building a wine cellar are almost endless. When choosing materials for wine racks, you can buy stackable wine shelves, or build them yourself out of pallets or other found wood. Just be sure that the wood is heavy and thick enough to withstand the weight of wine bottles.
If you love wine but don’t plan on keeping more than 10-20 bottles at a time, you could build a tasting center area instead. This could also double as a brunch nook. A large unit with shelves, a table top, a rack for glasses, and drawers to keep corkscrews and other utensils will go a long way in impressing your guests. This way, you’ll be able to keep everything handy for your next impromptu movie night or wine and cheese party.
Create a Mural
A great way to keep your memories close is to create a mural of special photos. This can include family, friends, vacations, pets, and other special moments. If you have kids, this could be a great family project. Simply combine photos in a creative, appealing way, frame the mural, and you’re done!
