Tiling every inch of your bathroom can be extremely costly, and that is why many people only tile key areas such as the walls around a shower. Reclaimed panels, board and batten siding, and other wooden materials are much more affordable, and they can add quite a bit of charm to a bathroom. Once you install those materials, you must make sure that they are properly sealed with high-quality linseed or tung oil.

Keep in mind that if you plan on making any alterations to the structure of your home or the plumbing system, then you will need to file for a building permit well before you start this project. Altering your home without the proper permits could result in devastating fines and fees.
