  • Opening Intro -

Your husband or significant other is driving you crazy. He is always underfoot and his projects seem to be scattered everywhere.

He needs a place to work without, a place to think, a place to get away, and more importantly a place where he can be manly and do manly things.

You have racked your brain to find the best space for him to pursue his hobbies and interests and have concluded that the garage may be the very best alternative. Below are some options to help turn this space into the ultimate man cave.

New Flooring

The first thing to do that will make the new room attractive and inviting is to add new flooring. Some great choices include stained concrete, tile, or even a wood laminate. You can make it cozier by adding throw and area rugs where needed.

A Work Bench

If your spouse is a natural craftsman, be sure to have a work bench installed. Here he can putter to his heart’s content. Be sure to add a wide expanse of peg board above it, so he can keep track of all of his precious tools. This is something you want him to have. As he could work on some of the honey-do-list projects that you have been nagging him about for years. He will finally have his own space to work on them.

Adding shelving will give the room even more character. He can display trophies, favorite books, a selection of movies, or photos of family members. Add masculine baskets to use as catch all for all of the small items he doesn’t know what to do with.

Adding furniture will depend on your budget for this project. An all-leather sofa or sectional would give extra seating for all of his friends during the big game. A comfortable recliner would be a perfect throne for the man of the house. Don’t forget a large coffee table for all of those snacks and beverages.

The Best Man Cave Ideas:

Recreational Items

Rig this area up with a flat-screen TV and super remote, and he will probably not even notice the rest of the new room. A stereo system with storage for his CDs would also be a nice touch. Gradually add other items such as a pool table, refrigerator, bar, keg cooler, and/or game table. Make it a place where he can relax and be a kid again with all of his friends.

Wall Art

The wall art for this room can be anything from neon beer signs or vintage car plaques to expensive wildlife scenes. Select what the occupant would enjoy the most, and place the pieces strategically where guests can view them also.

For fresh air and alternative usage, be sure to keep a professional garage door in place. Companies like AAA Garage Door, Inc. can supply you with exactly what you need for flexibility and comfort.

As you can see from the above suggestions, the interior of any man cave is going to depend on the personality of the individual who will be spending quality time within its walls. Consider all of his interests and hobbies before making the final decisions as to how to decorate and furnish this private space.
