Garage Upgrades to Save Up Time and Space

Garage Upgrades to Save Up Time and Space

It's easy to have a messy garage.

Storage spaces are generally the last places we look to clean or tidy up.

Clutter is easy to end up in these places and you'll be amazed on how many things you end up throwing out.

-------------------------------------

1. Use the Ceiling

This might seem like a surprising piece of advice but truth is a couple of rails planted on the ceiling of your garage can help you easily store those plastic boxes that have seasonal items like Christmas decorations or old belongings. Also, if you’re a fishing fan, you can store your fishing rods up there. Trust us, no fish will be angry at you for that. Plus, it doesn’t take much effort to put up and it isn’t expensive either, averaged at a price of around $80.

 2. Wall Hangers

Wall hangers are the best way to store your tools and deposit your bike or winter sports equipment (one can knock down that skiing gear only so many times before finding it annoying). These little jewels are great for mini storage spaces, as well as for putting up that hose that’s been getting in your way during winter when it’s rendered useless.

3.  Magnetic Strips

These little things can be a very fun and easy way of storing all of your heavy tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches and even scissors. There’s no need in saying that you save tons of time by not rummaging for 10-20 minutes in order to find the exact wrench that you need to fix that loose cap. You can also get creative and use additional racks to store lighter items and save up more space.

4. DIY Projects

If you’re more of a do it yourself kind of person, all you need for a couple of racks is two types of corner braces, l-brackets, wood screws, a drill and, of course, the shelves (dimensions of which vary according to your space and, of course, preferences. Of course then you would have to get to it so here’s a handy guide that will get you through it.

5. Save Up Home Space

Depending on how spacious your garage is you can also squeeze in some racks in order to keep shoes fresh and nicely stored. This way you will forget about always moving shoes from side to side or taking out 20 boxes to find that one pair that you really want to wear.

6. Digitize Your Garage Door

As time passes, garage doors get trickier to handle and also, represent a big hassle especially when they get stubborn and need a bit of extra muscle in order to be opened or closed. An automatic garage door can do wonders for you from the comfort of not having to step out into the cold or on rainy days to open and close it, to the idea that you can sync the system with your phone so you know at any time if the door has been opened.

Organizing saves time and space and if you are the type that spends a lot of time in the garage developing DIY projects or simply enjoying the occasional fix, then might as well make it an amazing and efficient place to spend your time in.
