• So let’s jump in by starting with a string of lights – neatly attached to the edge of your roof line. It can be very simple using varying colors or one single color. You can either staple the string to the roof or use light attachments that can be easily removed when the season ends.
• Lighting has changed over the years – from incandescent lighting to today’s LED. LED lighting is much less expensive to operate, easier to install, and does not generate the heat as the old incandescent bulb that could pose a fire hazard for dry and brittle roofs.

Frame your windows and doors

• Once you have attached lights to your roof, you can now add some lighting around your windows and doors. Try to find light attachments or mounting tape that will secure your lights without damaging any of your exterior materials.
• A neat holiday display is to completely frame out your exterior front home and windows:

Sticking lights into trees

Notes:

• Lighting up your landscape trees will give you a creative display of lighting depending how extensive you decorate the truck, limbs, and the skeletal look of the tree. The challenge is getting up high and outward to attached lighting to different parts of the tree.
• You will need to use a light placement pole and/or a cheerie picker to get up high enough. Or you can climb the tree – but that can be very dangerous.
