And now you realize that after buying the house and that house warming party, there is no money left to buy any furniture or furnishings. And you do not wish to bring any old furniture to your new house.
So now what do you do? Well, do not fret as there are a couple of tips that will help you to tide over this difficult phase of your life!
Use packaging boxes.
Just look around your new house. You will find a number of cartons and boxes strewn around. make use of them. There would be some wooden crates in which you would have got your glassware or even your TV. See how sturdy it is and if it can serve as your sofa chair. In case it is made of rough wood, drape some bedsheets over it. Tie up the loose ends nicely with safety pins. Place some thin mattress and cushions on it and your sofa is ready.
No one will ever come to know what it actually is! Are there any cardboard boxes? There would be plenty. Now keep all the stuff that you may not need immediately inside them and close the boxes with a tape. Store them away after you label them properly. Take some empty cardboard boxes and glue their open edges. Now turn them upside down. You can paste some old newspaper on them or some glossy pages of a magazine.

Your side tables are ready. Just make sure that you do not keep anything heavy on them. In case there are any heavy metal boxes, they will serve as a seating space too. Get hold of some fluorescent paint tubes and unleash your creativity on them. You can have a unique and bright living area this way.
Go furniture free.
You need mattresses to sleep. But you do not really need beds. So put some mattresses on the floor. This way you will have more sleep area too! For your kitchen, you can opt for a cupboard in case there are no cabinets. Just place your dishes in them after washing and drying them properly. You may even remove the door of the cupboard to provide easy access.
