The Easiest Pizza Party Ever

home remodeling tid-bits

Renovating can put a crimp in your party giving. You need a break now more than ever, so while you are having work done inside, move the party outside. When I want to throw a low stress party, one of my favorite dishes to serve is pizza. Everyone loves it and it's easy to fancy up.

You can cook pizza on your grill. This makes it perfect for a summer party where you'd rather not heat up the house. Make sure to grease the grill well or use a pizza stone if you have one or you won't be happy about the mess.

Purchase pre-made pizza dough, pre-cooked individual shells, or flat-bread. All work perfectly. I prefer the flat-bread for grill parties, but you can use any of them. The reason I like it is that it make a crisp thin crust that only adds 100 calories to your pizza if you use the FlatOut brand. They have a whole wheat one that tastes great and is healthy too. If you are using uncooked dough, grill it on both sides for a couple of minutes before putting them out for your guests to top.

For sauce you can be as simple as adding some fresh oregano and basil to a can of crushed tomatoes. In a pinch, you can use spaghetti sauce. Fresh pesto or even plain olive oil also makes a great pizza sauce.

Make a mini buffet of toppings set out on your favorite dinnerware. Make it interesting by adding pre-roasted veggies like asparagus, bell peppers, and thinly slice potato. Of course, this is in addition to all your favorite meats and vegetables. If you have some BBQ chicken, make sure to put that out, just add a choice of extra BBQ sauce for your guests to use as a base. Make sure to put out a variety of cheeses. Some of my favorites are fresh mozzarella, goat cheese, feta, and cheddar.

Once a pizza is ready, put it on the grill until the cheese is melted and the toppings are hot. You may need to close the cover of the grill if they are piled high with toppings. Make sure the crust is crisp before you take it off the grill.

Make sure to serve it up on Noritake colorwave, it makes every meal seem special.
