It serves as an excellent fertilizer, repels weeds, and aids trees in surviving drought and harsh temperatures. However, be careful not to apply mulch the wrong way. It could also kill the trees.<\/li>\n<li class=\"none\">Follow these guidelines to mulch your trees: <\/h6>\n<ul class=\"post4 dash line\">\n<li>Add  mulch as far as the branches&#8217; spread, if possible.<\/li>\n<li>Keep  mulch shallow, around 3 inches deep.<\/li>\n<li>Keep  mulch 3 inches from tree trunks.
