They are muddy and wet! I don&#8217;t want that mud coming into the house!&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"none\">That is the purpose of the mudroom, a staging area where the family can undress their dirty or wet clothes and shoes before entering into the home. A place where the mud can be removed and cleaned up within a confined area. <\/li>\n<li class=\"none\">It is also the room where you and family members can remove and store dirty clothes and safety gear after working in the yard, fixing the auto, doing construction, or making repairs to the home.<\/li>\n<li class=\"contentcomments none\">But there are other helpful mudroom uses that make home management that much easier:\n<ul class=\"post4 dash line\">\n<li class=\"h51header\">\n<h5>Place to Store Shoes:<\/h5>\n<p>Coming in from the outside can trek in dirt and other unsanitary stuff that gets on floors and other furniture pieces. Let&#8217;s face it!, the bottom sole of the shoe is not clean after walking the streets, school grounds, shopping centers, and other not-so-clean places.<\/li>\n<li class=\"none\">It&#8217;s a good habit to take off your shoes before entering the home. The mudroom is the place where that can take place.
